2008 Street of Dreams


Do you dream of brown mahogany stained oak cabinets, stainless steel state of the art appliances, or granite slab countertops in your kitchen? The 32nd Annual Street of Dreams was an amazing mix of old style architecture with contemporary artistic flair. This year’s Street of Dreams is located in the Altamont neighborhood on Mt. Scott. One of the key allures of this set of homes was the magnificent view that can be seen from nearly every window in the back of each property. The view includes the cityscape of downtown Portland, Mt. Adams, Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, and Mt. Rainer. Each home is equipped with new technology and accessories to make it a more luxurious living environment.

The first home on the tour is called “Suede”. This beautiful 4.352 square foot home was built by Lisac Brothers Construction, Inc. It is a modern style home with three bedrooms, three full baths, one half bath, and a bonus room. This family style home also includes a dining room, media room, and a study. Suede had amazing bamboo hardwood floors with an abundance of natural light that extenuated the amazing color of the floors.

The “Summit” is second in the tour. The Summit is not on the main street, but located a block away facing Happy Valley. This home was built by the Westlake Development Group. This 5,213 square foot Northwest Craftsmen style home was built on a 1.25 acre lot. The Summit was a two level home with three bedrooms, a bonus room, three full baths, and two half baths. It also includes a dining room and a vaulted den. What set this home apart was the large lower level that would be perfect for kids. The two bedrooms are located right next to the family room and game room. This design is perfect to entertain your kids as well as a large patio for special occasions.

“Cherith Brook” is the most luxurious of the homes on the tour. This 11,037 square foot traditional northwest home is designed with four bedrooms, six full baths, and two half baths. This spectacular home includes a fitness room, office, study, bonus room, theater room, wine cellar with freezer room, massage room, library, a large patio with a fountain, and a swimming pool with a Jacuzzi. This amazing three story home’s exterior has stone siding, an incredible view, and great landscaping to compliment the grandiose interior.

The fourth home on the tour is “Sonoma”. With 6,515 square feet, the Shelburne Company has created a very unique contemporary home that stands out as one of the best creative architecture in the Street of Dreams for 2008. Gregory Heinze has created a remarkable home with beautifully designed rooms and luxurious amenities. Large windows let in more natural light that work well with the interior color tones. The lower level is perfect for entertaining guests with a full bar, game room, and large deck that opens out to a spectacular view towards Lake Oswego.

The “Providence House” is the fifth home in the Street of Dreams. This magnificent 5,800 square foot home has amazing furniture, appliances, and custom interior that give it an older feel. The dark woods and wrought iron compliment each other. The lower level boasts a luxurious bar with walk in wine cellar, as well as a large wrap around deck that is perfect for large gatherings.

The last home in the tour is “Pure Innova”. This home is a 6,500 square foot, Northwest Contemporary home that was built by Haggart Luxury Homes. Pure Innova has four bedrooms and five bathrooms and is located at the end of the road. The interior stays with the contemporary designs of the exterior and features modern design with integrated lighting and technology. This home has a warm appeal generated from its earthy color tones and open spaces. Large windows open up to a panoramic view that seems to be the theme for this year’s Street of Dreams. One of the features that is unique to Pure Innova is the Pond and waterfall that greet guests as soon as they walk down to the front door. Overall this home extenuates the luxuriousness that is essential for the Street of Dreams.
