Black Butte Ranch

Black Butte Ranch is one of the more luxurious Resorts in the Cascade area. For over 30 years Black Butte Ranch has been a sanctuary for leisure, golf, and family fun. This oasis is set in the middle of the Cascade Range, eight miles from Sisters, Oregon. The ranch is named after Black Butte, an extinct volcano that is located just north of the ranch. The resort encompasses about 1,280 acres of prime real estate that is owned and operated by its homeowners.

There are many different activities that you can experience while staying at Black Butte Ranch. Some of those activities include swimming in the recreational center pool or the many lakes that surround the ranch. You can also go horseback riding, fishing, tennis, and canoeing. There are also eighteen miles of bike paths. The most famous activity to experience while staying at Black Butte Ranch is golf. Black Butte Ranch is home to Glaze Meadow and Big Meadow golf courses. In 2008, Golf Digest named Black Butte Ranch one of the Top 100 golf resorts in the country. This accolade is due in part by the scenic views that accompany a golfer through the course. The most famous hole is the 14th on the Big Meadow course because of the extraordinary view of Three Finger Jack Mountain.

As the years have past since the first homes were built, there have been many additions to the Ranch. The Resort is home to a spa that is located in the Glaze Meadow Recreation Center. Visitors can treat themselves to a message, facial, pedicure, manicure or any of the other spa treatments that are available. Accommodations such as the dining facilities have been a welcomed addition that has helped to increase the luxurious ambiance of the Resort. In January of 2009, the ranch will be home to a brand new Welcome Center that started construction in April of 2008.
