The Portland Spirit

Imagine cruising down the Willamette or Columbia River with the sun at your back and the open waters to your front. Picture yourself eating dinner on the deck of the boat as the sunsets and the majestic view of the Oregon scenery shines in the distance. This is the experience that you will gain aboard the many vessels that encompass the Portland Spirit family of vessels.

The first in the family of boats is the Portland Spirit. It is a 150’ yacht that has seating for 350 guests and a capacity for 540 guests if you were planning on reserving for a reception. The Portland Spirit has been to many places. It started the journey on the Connecticut River, passed through the Panama Canal, voyaged in the waters near Maui, and eventually came to Portland in 1994. The Portland Spirit has gone through two major remodels to make the voyage more pleasurable for it’s passengers. These pleasures include a delicious northwest cuisine that serves for breakfast lunch and dinner. It also has a full service bar, an excellent wine selection, and great entertainment that will make the experience one to remember.

The next boat in the family is the Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler. This boat is the oldest in the line of vessels and has a capacity for 2,000 guests. Weddings, birthday parties, and company gatherings have all been guests of the Sternwheeler. Passengers board at Marine Park in the Cascade Locks and cruise down the Columbia River. The Columbia River is 80 miles long and 4,000 feet deep. The journey is amazing and the adventure is unforgettable.

Other vessels include the Willamette Star and the Crystal Dolphin, which are smaller yachts for parties of about 100 people. The last vessel in the family is the outrageous jet boat. This experience will take you on a high-speed tour of the Columbia or Willamette River. Overall, the experience is memorable and the best way to see the two most famous rivers of Oregon.
